The newly formed Choshen Mishpat Kollel is the latest addition to the Rohr Talmudic University Campus. The group headed by Rabbi Dovid Schoen, will consist of six full time scholars, as well as several local Rabbonim and scholars who will participate in one of the two daily sessions. An important component of the Kollel’s is focused on the community. Working in coordination with local Rabbonim and layman the kollel members offer Shiurim on a daily basis and set up Chavrusos at various locations throughout the South Florida area. The Kollel curriculum consist of a rigorous in depth study of Jewish business law culminating in the obtainment of Yodin Yodin (qualification to adjudicate Jewish civil law disputes.) The program is being coordinated with Harav Hagaon R Chaim Kohn Shlit”a head of the Business Halacha institute. Harav Kohn will be administering tests and providing regular Chaburos to the B’nei Kollel . The Kollel is under the guidance of the Rosh Yeshiva Harav Hagaon Rav Yochnan Zweig Shlit”a. The Rosh HaYeshiva will be giving regular in depth Shiurim covering various areas in legal theory.



Rosh Kollel, Rabbi Dovid Schoen grew up in Los Angeles and attended Yeshivas Ohr Elchonon headed by Hagaon Harav Simcha Wasserman zt"l. After a successful career in international trade Rabbi Schoen returned to full time learning. He spent two years learning in Kollel in Israel under Hagaon Harav Dov Schwartzman Shlit”a. After returning to Los Angeles, Rabbi Schoen studied for five years in the Kollel at Yeshiva of Los Angeles , (headed by Rav Nachum Sauer) followed by an additional six years at the Lakewood Kollel of Los Angeles. During that time, Rabbi Schoen taught advanced shiurim to laymen in greater Los Angeles area and halacha at Bais Yaakov of Los Angeles. He received Semicha (Yoreh Yoreh) from Rav Zalman Nechemiah Goldberg shlit”a. Rabbi Schoen is joined by his wife Michele and the three youngest of their six children.

Rabbi Yitzchak Winkler originally from Far Rockaway New York attended Yeshiva Shaar Hatorah Grodna in Queens for high school and Beis Medrash. He attended Mir Yeshiva in Yerushalayim, and Bais Medrash Gavoha in Lakewood. After getting married, he returned to Yerushlayim to learn in the Mir in Kollel. He received semicha from Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. Reb Yitzchak is certified in Hilchos Shabbos, Issur Veheter, Eruvin, Milah and Gerus. He is joined by his wife Hadassa and their two children.

Rabbi Zecharia Zweig grew up in Miami Beach and attended Yeshiva Elementary School. After graduation, he continued his learning in Yeshivas Beis Moshe Chaim until he married his wife Yehudit in 2008. Zecharia then moved to Eretz Yisrael where he studied in Yeshivas Mir for the past year and a half until recently returning to Miami Beach to join our Kollel.

Rabbi Avraham Orlofsky.
Originally from Queens, NY Reb Avraham attended Mechinas Ner Israel in Baltimore and graduated Yeshiva Toras Chaim in Denver. After continuing in Beis Medrash in Denver for several years, he left for Eretz Yisroel to learn at Reb Tzvi Kalpan’s Yeshiva. He then moved on moved on to Beis Medrash Gevoah in Lakewood, New Jersey. Recently Rabbi Orlofsky was learning under Harav Menachem Eichenstien in Eretz Yisroel. Rabbi Orlofsky is joined by hiswife Yocheved and their
                              two children.

Rabbi Ytzchak Tenenbaum, originally from Mexico City, studied for 10 years at Yeshivas Mir, in Jerusalem. During that period, Reb’Ytzchak lectured at to spanish speaking students at various Yeshivos. After obtaining Semicha, Rabbi Tenenbaum, was invited to join the Miami Beach Community Kollel, where he reached out to the diverse Latin Jewish communities of South Florida. Rabbi Tenenbaum’s Spanish language shiurim on CD are popular through out South Florida and Latin America. He is joined by his
                              wife Vicky and their six children.

Rabbi Avroham Feldheim, Raised in Denver, Colorado. Reb Avrum attended the local institutions through tenth grade. He then moved on to Yeshiva Rabbenu Yaakov Yosef in Edison New Jersey. After completing high School Reb Avrum continued in Edison’s Beis Medrash for an additional three years. Leaving America to study in Eretz Yisrael, he joined Rabbi Tzvi Kaplan’s Yeshiva in Yerushalayim. Most recently studying at Yeshivas D'var Torah, in Yerushalayim. Rabbi Feldheim is joined by his wife Esti and three                                   children.
